Pay gap reporting for advisers: managing several client companies
By the Equaudit team · Updated · 1 min read
Many companies of 100 to 500 employees will ask their accountant, payroll provider or HR adviser to handle the pay gap report. For the adviser it is a repeatable service, provided the work is organised across clients.
A repeatable service
The steps are the same for each client: obtain the payroll export, agree the job categories, compute the indicators, review flagged categories, deliver the report. Standardising the CSV format and the category definitions per client saves most of the time.
A portfolio view
With several clients, the first question each morning is which of them needs attention. A portfolio view lists every client with its latest annual report, its mean gap and whether any category is at or above 5%, so that you can start with those that matter. Opening a client takes you to its own report and tracking.
Your team and your clients' confidentiality
- Invite colleagues with a role that fits: administrator, member who creates analyses, or read-only viewer.
- Limit a colleague to the clients they work on.
- Keep an activity log of who added a client, uploaded an analysis or changed access.
Payroll files contain personal data, so as an adviser you will usually act as processor for your client. Check the contractual and data protection framework with your legal adviser. Equaudit does not store individual salaries; see how Equaudit works.
Beyond the annual report
Clients rarely want only a document. Quarterly follow-up of the indicators and a short review of flagged categories turn a compliance task into an advisory relationship. See why track your pay gap between two reports.
